What a beautiful summer week it was especially for bike riding! I saw so many cyclists on the road this week and it was definitely a welcome sight! For my report this week I am just reporting on a simple ride I went on with someone special.  I was able to take my wife out on a date this week.  We rode slow and talked about how beautiful Provo was.  We talked about how great it will be (in the near future) to hop on the train and head up to Salt Lake. We arrived at the movie theater and parked right next to the entrance of the mall. There was no driving around looking for open parking just a quick lock up and we were able to head into the movie.  We saw Inception (it was AWESOME). It turned out to be a great day, and I was reminded of how wonderful a 2 mile bike ride can be with someone special. I had another ride this last week that ended up in an injured hand so this post will stay short. However, if you go back to last weeks ride report Brad basically challenged everyone here to a duel. How will you answer? Either way make it a good week and do not miss Provelo on Saturday.

  1. This week was typical, no special rides, except for the Monday Family ride to Bajio from Mad Dog Cycles! There were over 70 people, and it was truly awesome to see so many families out riding their bikes. It is always fun riding with my kids and my wife. I couldn’t ask for better riding partners.

  2. This past week, my wife and I did something unusual–we went on a bike date. We had a babysitter for the kids, and we went to get a treat, we stopped in at JoAnn for some craft goodies, and finished off the date with some light grocery shopping. I absolutely loved it. With this being my last week in Utah, I’m trying to absorb as much scenery and ambiance that I can. Keep up the good work with the committee and I’m excited to send updates from Madison!

  3. *****UPDATE FROM TODAY*****
Buzzed by Orem Police squad car #2089 on State Street! I repeat, buzzzed by Orem Police squad car #2089! Filing a report ASAP!

  4. I had a wonderful ride on the Saturday evening. I am always excited when Provo is empty. On Saturday it was especially so as most everyone was elsewherecelebrating. I had the chance to go pick up groceries around 10 pm and I was not passed by one single car. It was so quiet and calm. I rode a few blocks with some longboarders and their fellow cycling friend. We saw some fireworks and then I was home. I love living in a more urban area but I cherish the quiet moments I have on my bike when the city falls away to silence.
