This is incredibly important. We’ve advocated for this 900 E UVX stop for many years. We need alt transit voices at these meetings. Please plan to be to as many as your schedule allows. 🚌

Check out these new bike lanes on Canyon between University Avenue and University Parkway. 🤩 These bike 🚲 lanes connect to the Cougar Blvd protected lanes and BYU campus, and thus are another step creating an interconnected network that allows people on bikes and scooters to more safely get to where they want to go. (The narrower car lanes also help to slow automobile traffic and make it safer for drivers and pedestrians.) Many people on bikes—commuters and roadies—use Canyon Road and there are bike lanes north of Foothill Blvd but there is a missing gap of about two miles from Foothill to University Parkway. We look forward to that gap being closed with marked bike lanes in the near future so the residents of NE Provo can more safely get to BYU, downtown, and to other destinations.

We want to give a shout-out to the Provo Police Department for sending eight officers out on bike. By doing so, they are setting a good example, connecting better with the community, and making Provo a safer place to ride. We thank all officers for enforcing crosswalk laws and speeding and encourage them to turn off their car engines when stopped to prevent unnecessary pollution. 💨 Thanks @provo_police 🚲!

Check out these local heroes. Huge thanks to the @dmsprovo Latinos in Action (LIA) class! As a service project the Latinos in Action (LIA) class is working on getting rid of the goat head weeds around the school. They dry up and are to blame for flat bike tires, injured dog paws and get stuck to your shoes. If you see them pull them out!

Downtown Provo Planning Survey! (From Provo City) “Big things are happening downtown, and we want to hear your thoughts! The development plan for the downtown and surrounding areas (the Downtown Master Plan) was created in 2015 and has been one of Provo’s most successful plans to date. As staff revises and updates the plan, we want to hear about your experiences with downtown. Attendees at the Open House shared great insights! You can now review the recorded sessions (links on https://ift.tt/3ibxzxQ), and take a survey based on the questions from the open house.” You can take the survey at the link in our profile!

BikeWalk Provo has awarded Stan Morris the Volunteer of the Year award. Stan has highlighted people who walk and bike around Provo, sharing their stories through our social media channel (#bikewalkprovostories). He works to show that people of diverse backgrounds and all ages get around our city without a car and deserve a safe city to do so in. A round of applause for Stan!
