Desire lines. If urban designers are smart, they will pay attention to what their residents want and design for that. This @provo.parks river trail “exit” to Riverside Plaza (Maceys, Target, Ace Hardware, etc.”) shows that people would like easier access to those businesses. And we hope @provo.parks will take this into consideration in its updates to the Provo River Trail.

We have a new vision for Center Street: – One where drivers actually drive 15mph – One where pedestrians feel comfortable crossing anywhere they like as written in Provo City Code 9.30 – One where people on bike and scooter feel comfortable taking the lane instead of riding on the sidewalks And we can accomplish this vision with your help and our elected leaders. Please add your name to a letter we will soon be sending to @provocity. LINK IN BIO!

Since 2010, SUV and truck sales have been rising and recently surpassed sales of sedans. Concurrently, pedestrian deaths have been increasing since SUVs and trucks are two to three times more likely to kill someone in a crash than a sedan. They strike people from a higher position, pushing them down and under the vehicle which then crushes them with one to two tons of weight. If you do not absolutely need a SUV or truck, do not buy one.
