Car-oriented suburban housing, strip malls, and wide streets led by NIMBYism and an outdated zoning code have dominated Provo’s development since the 1950s. This has led to poor air quality, high housing and transportation costs, and a detached sense of community. @provocity is now rewriting its general plan which will formalize the City’s goals and vision for our community. This is our chance to promote a livable redevelopment of Provo–walkable neighborhoods filled with diverse housing types, corner stores, and safe streets.
