The BikeWalk Provo Public Works department noticed cars parked in the bike lane on 800 North. Maybe the bike lane was not noticable to them. Cyclists were swerving in an out of 25mph traffic lanes to avoid them. With just a little rearranging of traffic cones, we created a protected bike lane that both clearly designates the bike lane and creates a virtual barrier to protect cyclists from fast-moving cars. It’s amazing how much safer you can make a street with little to no money! Imagine all the other streets @provocity could do this on.
